eeebuntu

I finally bit the bullet and installed eeebuntu on my eee PC.
I still keep a dual-boot XP on it just in case but I want to see how far I can go with the Ubuntu variant.
The decision was easy as I started to get serious lag on XP lately for opening documents or downloading small files.
So far eeebuntu is snappy, all the components work (I had to reinstall the kernel and recompile the webcam drivers) and I found that almost all programs that I use regularly are somehow available on Ubuntu.
The only thing that I’ll be missing is my Reason setup (that’s mainly why I keep the XP partition around) and NewsLeecher. But perhaps I’ll give Wine a try to have it run on Linux…
I’ll keep you posted on how it goes…

Carls I posted an article that should walk you through the basic steps (http://www.enik.ch/2008/07/eeebuntu-geek-stuff/).
You say:
“I had to reinstall the kernel and recompile the webcam drivers”
For a newbie who would like to follow in footsteps, is there a step-by-step that could be followed?
Thanks for any links.
