I didn't metion that ipc boots on the other tower from power up post! not just from within vmware.
Dunno if that is any news or not. I havnt tried
that on the machine that is successfully running it
thur vmware. just didn't need it too it works well
enough as a tool within vmware for my purposes..

O and all this sprung from my attempt and finally succeeding to install Leopard 10.5.8 on a G4 Yikes PCI MAC. hahaah using a PC to do the work on.

albiet The Yikes has been heavily upgraded...

Sonnet Encore 1G ZIF CPU Upg.
NVidia FX5200 256M PCI Supporting QE & CI
1G RAM
Sonnet Tempo TSATA PCI Card & 250G SATA HDD
Koutech IO-PU526 5port USB 2.0 w/3ext & 2 int
Sabrent PCI-802N Wifi Dual Ant (Ralink drivers)
front 3.5" Flash bay w/front USB fits beautifually
behind Zip/Floppy slot. Looks like it was make that way. USB Bluetooth so can go wireless iphone sync.

RUNS PRETTY DAMN SMOOTH. Great for Garageband & APOGEE JAM.

Not bad for the oldest G4 Made. Now can do itunes 10 & up used with Iphone on a Yikes.

O yes you can! I've been running it for 2 months. Using it to CCC hard drives for a old G4 unsupported Leopard Install. Its my
go to osx when I'm trying to troubleshoot or clone images. Works
pretty great too!

Its not VMware's fault. I tried to duplicate the installation on a variety of other PC's besides my Main Home Machine.. No go! Its picky as hell what it will run on! But the CD will boot and install when you create a virgin vmware drive and have the disk in when you start er up!

Ironically the ipc CD will boot and install from my other Tower, my former dual core system running a Asus A8N SLI MB.
But after install and reboot it KP's. Now that I think about it I dont think I ever clicked custom and checked the box for ipc AMD SSE stuff? hmm Maybe I'll try that one again... I dont even think I did that on the successfull VMware install thats up and running.........................

Ultra Aluminus Black Tower

Hi everybody.

I'm new to Hackintoshes, and I just wanted to say, you've got a great tutorial! I don't have access to a real Mac computer, and I wanted to figure out how to do it without owning a Mac. I followed a tutorial on installing iDeneb 1.4 (Leopard 10.5.6), but even though the installation claimed to be successful it got stuck on the Apple logo every time I tried to do post-installation bootings of iDeneb. Also note that I'm dual-booting with Windows XP.

And BTW, I am using a 1000HE, just for your information. :)

Sincerely,
Ryan

P.S. I tried installing Snow Leopard 10.6.6 by Hazard in VirtualBox, but it crashed with a double kernel panic barely a tenth of the way through the installation process. I was using a Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop for the VirtualBox installation because it was the only computer in my house that had a dual-core processor with VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration.

Go to Disk Utility and unmount the partition (not eject. Unmount)
Then try the command and re-mount the partition.
Et voila :) (sorry for the 2 years delay on the questlion. I just had this issue and fixed it this way)

I followed all of these instructions and was using the iDeneb version to do the install.

I placed it onto a USB thumb drive and all seems to have installed perfectly.

When it did the restart after the OS install it shows the grey background with apple logo, and then shows the NO symbol over the apple logo. Once this happens I can leave the netbook for hours and it just stays there and does nothing else.

Are there any suggestions on what to do?

Hello,
I’m a relatively new Windows user and recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium on my laptop.
I do not want to advertise which user accounts are available on my laptop and would prefer the standard Ctl-Alt-Del
method of logging in.
I tried the various steps of accessing password management, went to the Advanced tab, but the “Require
users to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete” check box is grayed out.
I am the administrator on this lap top, so I am at a loss.
Is this not possible with Home Premium?
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance,

Hey! First of all: Many-many-many thanks for this guide! After many installation and test my 1000H (latest bios 2204) is running Leopard and everything (Sound, ethernet, wifi, etc...) seems to work well ...except the Screensaver. It want start. I can "Test" it in System Preferencies but won't start. Any ideas?
